We're playing an MMO again: Awesome!
We're playing World of Warcraft again: Wow!
We're all starting off together at the same time: Hurray!
The attitudes are there, the willingness is thick as well. We had some grumpletons (Gohan!) but he came around and now he and Sam play too.
Why are we playing this game? We've known each other for a long time and those who are new to this circle of friends are seen as lifelong friends. I see you all equally as brothers and sisters in respect to this "circle".
With the introduction out of way, I wanted to start a discussion on the long term plan with this current MMO, WoW. WoW marks the only MMO where I left it, came back, left it, came back, left it, came back and everytime I left it, it wasn't so much WoW's fault but lack of friends or because of friends. In short, I don't play WoW so much as I just play with you guys the "circle".
The circle breaks down and I quit, people quit, but because WoW itself is fun, it still leaves this strange eerie calling to come back and play.
So we got far last time in Brave Hearts - Round 1. We got all the way to Kara and things fell apart.
This time, I wanna go past Kara, I want to keep going and have fun doing it. Sometimes fun means toughing it out in boring moments for the greater good down the road.
We're playing a 5 man game for the most part yet we're greater than 5 but less than 25. We're at 10 when we need to be but the exclusion of one of us backlashes the entire "circle".
How do we progress as a group, log off at the end of the night smiling and energized with good memories in a game that creates a rift.
Logically having two teams makes sense but emotionally it creates a rift between us and splits our circle in half. I don't like the idea of it but it is a sound and logical plan. No one likes to be controlled and told to meet a level cap and stay at the cap, at the same time if our level range stretches too far, we're no longer playing together but playing a game at the same time and just talking together.
Basically how do we control group progression without the idea of control?
How do you appease everyone at the same time despite different play styles?
I don't know, well I do know. It's easy, "Caring about one another" and taking selfishness out of the equation.
Sounds easy right? Yet we as humans we are killing, robbing, and raping each other everyday. Frankly because we don't love or care for each other as fellow humans beings. Another's life isn't as important as our "own" lives, sadly.
So how do we as a "circle" overcome the obstacles and come up with a plan to play this game together, have fun doing it, and end up energized ready to do it again the next day?
I'm not playing WoW so much as I'm just playing a game and having fun with my brothers and sisters.
Serious discussion is most definitely welcomed here.
