I decided to post this and actually procure more opinions on whether or not women can be considered women when compared to a woman of 30-40 years ago. I often go on a tantrum about how our generation's women, for lack of better works, suck. Now, take into consideration I'm not talking about ALL women, so let's not be offended by this.
Now, let's get on with the actual topic at hand. I don't know how many guys I've sat down with, while they had a cold beer and I a cold orange soda, and discusses our childhood. 90% of the time, guys have the wonderful ability to recall the wonderful & sensational food our mothers used to make for us. Apple pie hunny? You got it. Who wants a home made ham sandwich? I DO!! What?! You fell down and tore your sweater *brings down the sewing kit*. Now, let's place a female in her mid-late 20's in this particular situation. Most girls I've met, have never held a sewing needle and never will. Most girls I've met don't even know how to cook anything passed already cooked ingredients. I can't say that it isn't that they don't know HOW to cook, because cooking can be interpreted in a great many of lights. However, cooking shit from SCRATCH is something I have yet to see.
I remember my mom spending hours in the kitchen and then cooking a feast to rival a king. Whereas, most girls now and days refuse to spend more than 30 mins making a broccoli casserole or something simple to fill the stomach. So my question is, when did it change? How did it change? Is cooking and being a wonderful housewife/Mother that fills her child's memories with sweet aromas and belly aching meals, looked down upon?
I know that many people will raise the argument that women are more career driven and do not have time for some trivial home chores. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, in fact, I applaud a woman who can successfully beat the odds of a sexist society and push her way to the top. However, when did the roles change? When did women start becoming more like men and when does it stop? (Keep in mind this is in comparison with the women back 30-50 years ago, that believed a woman should take care of her "home"). Once again, I would like to reiterate that this is not a bold attempt to put down anyone. It's simply a observation that I decided to bring to light, sooooo let's not start a huge argument Mmmk? Let's just debate a "hot topic".
