Sick..sick..sick.
...fuck the police.
It's one of those things I find disturbingly sad. It's right up there with homeless and starving people within the US because it's an issue that we all know exists, laugh about, worry about, and yet NOTHING IS REALLY DONE.
Sure many of these animals in prison don't deserve sympathy at all but as a SYSTEM REHIBILITATION CORRECTIONS FACILITY. The system itself should not turn a blind eye to PRISON RAPE and MURDER within the facility.
Just because we're detaining criminals doesn't mean the facility/system should allow criminal behavior within the prison.
So we have this issue of tax payer dollars needed to create prison facilities that are made in a way to lock criminals down but also protect the criminals from each other and the guards.
So maybe we need LESS prisons, less people in prison and doing that would mean changing our consequences for various criminal acts.
Less prisons means we can put more money towards the ones available. And why are there so many people in prison? Is prison the answer to every single felony? Sending someone for grand theft auto to a prison with a cellmate with multiple counts of murder a good idea? Surely they try to put these criminals on different blocks but with over populated prisons and they're having no choice but to put inmates in the same cell despite very different reasons for being in prison.
I feel as a society we need to face these situations sternly, make swift, wise decisions, and fulfill goals.
I'm really tired of how shitty things are around the world but in the United States we should be taking care of "OUR" own issues. And passing this crap off because of "lack of funds" is a tired old excuse. Money is the great incentive, people do not want to do things without compensation. What if the compensation was expressed as a something not monetary?
Basically we need something more motivating than the "Mean Green". How about a BETTER FUNCTIONING SOCIETY. That's motivating to me...now to convince everyone else
