uk.youtube.com/watch?v=HcJ8ib8U3zkIt's a long clip, but it's absolutely ridiculous. By now it is almost obvious that those with money, privilege, and power tend to get deals that normal citizens will never recieve. However, it just irks me to the core when I see stories like this where a judge makes an obvious slanted ruling. He even remarks at the end of his sentencing "Good Luck." What a bastard. This is the absolute number 1 reason why I never want to do criminal law. In America, the criminal justice system is never 100% accurate and likewise, in my mind, something as imperfected shouldn't be given such great clout where a man is put in prison for life for violating his parole through the smoking of a joint. In fact, I'd like to see the Texas Penal code and sentencing guidelines, because I find it hard to believe that a judge would have the discretion to sentence someone to life for a minor violation of their parole. Just goes to show how the system works in Texas. If you're rich and white it's your day in court and you leave scott free, but if you're black and poor you get life in prison and a "Good luck Mr. Brown." Ridiculous. P.S. Make sure you catch why the white dude was accused of murder. If you ask me, shooting a male prostitute in the back and killing him as he runs from you is no reason to convict someone of murder, right? T_T
