So who has UT3? Gohan mentioned he got it, I guess Alan did too, it's 30 bucks.
I bought it today for 29.99 and got the T9300 processor for my laptop. 2.5GHZ, 6MB cache, etc, etc. It's a substantial increase over the 6860's stock T5550 wimpy 1.83 processor.
I justified the cost because the laptop is on sale for 1050.00 right now. I initially bought it for 1395, so after the price match, I'm up to the exact same price before the sale and now have a superman non-extreme mobile processor.
So 1390.00 for a laptop with a T9300, 8800GTS, 4MB ram, 320GB harddrive with the ability to add another drive and place them in raid.
Pretty damn good for the price.
For the cost I could have put together a even nicer desktop PC but, I'm really enjoying the mobileness of a laptop. One would be hard pressed to make me sit down at a desk from now on.
17inch, 22 inch, 24 inch, 46 inch, 56 inch...I'm perfectly happy with a 17in laptop screen.
I really feel that vendors should really start pushing for custom laptop schemes. Today you can buy a ton of PC cases and every single component to fit in them. I think if vendors did the same for the mobile side of PCs you'd see many many more people going that route. Choosing their laptop case, then their keyboards to fit in them, the type of screen they want and native res. Basically giving the selection and customization of current desktops to laptops.
My next upgrade, eventually, will be to go to a 1920x1200 res screen or even 1680x1050. Swapping the screens out is actually pretty easy on these laptops assuming the inverters are compatible.
Anyways, unfortunately I won't have the T9300 till monday, but we can still kick it in UT3 online.
