So finally some misconceptions fixed and some education on the new Warhammer learned through the last two days of playing.
There is a reason scenario RVR is nearly dead in T3. Open-Lake RVR is where it's at.
I've been doing it for 2 days now, probably a total of 14 hours. This is where the real PvP action takes place. For two huge sessions I created the mess and the warband, the second time I joined mid session and they made me leader.
You get INF by just killing Destro in the RvR Lakes. Tons of it. If you can solo kill a Destro that's 100 INF. The problem is the moment people see action, they come and the warband starts which causes INF to plummet to the 10s due to the split.
So the best way to get insane INF is to be a small group and get the attention of a small group of Destro and just duel in the middle. They'll fight you for the INF, you'll fight them for the INF. Massive incentive with fighting each other like that.
Anyways for those two sessions, I lead a full warband, unlike WoW, Warhammer people seem to be much more mature or submissive. The Warband Leader always called the shots. If you say BO - so and so, that's where people go. In fact very few want to even lead because of all the choices the leader has to make.
Unfortunately we didn't take a single keep during those sessions. We attempted multiple times, got pretty close but Destro's willingness to RVR is pretty savage. It only takes a few to defend a keep especially if they're a sorc or marauder and can use the oil.
So far from what I've seen. Order is massively DPS heavy - light on healers and EXTREMELY light on Tanks. Destro is extremely heavy on Chosen, Healers (DoK), and Choppas. That said Order tends to roll over Destro when an all out fight starts. Get a few people who know what they're doing and everything just seems to click for the rest.
I got the majority of the Warband to assist on me the other day and it was nearly God mode. I was the only tank in the entire Warband for the majority of the time so the second I taunted someone - insta-death for them as the majority of the WB focused on my taunted target.
Definitely check the RvR lakes out, shit was off the chain yesterday. As a tank I really do feel like a battlefield general if people know what they're doing. Plenty of times I had to use hold the line and back up and surprisingly the warband stayed behind me and backed up with me while Elstara and the healers kept me alive. I have my frontal 65ft Talent skill Heaven's Fury. It knocks down everyone for 3 seconds in front of me. Very long range, I can drop an entire Warband if they're not too spread out with it.
For PvE I have All out Assault, Menace, Heaven's Fury now. So all the threat issues are gone as long as I'm there at the start of the fight. If I can tank hero BOs for an entire Warband, Chibbi's AoE isn't going to be a problem.
Oh and scratch that on the hardly anyone on. They're always RVRing, the moment you whack a BO people show up like flies to a carcass. I remember how tough it could be to get a group for City King killing in WoW, Warhammer you just light up a Battle Objective and people show up...Warband numbers with Region chat asking for openings. So I think the game just has so many areas to go that it's easy for everyone to be spread apart. Destro also pushed Altdorf last night. So it seems we're just slacking this week or so. When we first started, Order had nearly everything including the last zone to the Inevitable City. But it seems we're evenly matched on Skull Throne with both sides pushing back and forth.
