You know....my feelings for this movie are mixed up. It LOOKs pretty cool...but at the same time...its kinda not. It looks like a "movie theater" worthy movie. Everything is all CG and the colors are dark and futuristic F-Zeroish. movies.aol.com/movie/speed-racer-2008/28066/video/trailer-no-1/2033773Well, atleast theres fisticuff fighting in there just like the old show! And Racer X looks BA! And Hiroyuki Sanada is in it too! John Goodman is pops! Well, it looks pretty decent. I think I'll see it cause Speed Racer is just bawlin

Man...I love Speed Racer...
But, I'm going to level with you.
This movie looks like dark shit...the shit thats real dark because of bleeding in the intestines?
Good gosh this movie is like a wayback machine into 1998, the CG looks abysmal! The characters look worse than Fast and Furious, the colors are so funky fresh, I feel the strange need to take my shit to the automatic car wash (That's not a good thing).
Speed's trademark SCARF is MIA and the cartoon itself, albeit had some cars and stuff, wasn't some crazy superdelic color fest like this movie makes it. They were regular peeps in a regular world with a few strange individuals with weird automobiles, hell most of them didn't even look like racecars. Mach 5 stood out because it actually looked like a future racecar amongst all the goofy machines.
ANYWAYS. This movie is gonna be WEAK. Joox.net is where it'll be at for me. At least the actors seem to fit the characters for the most part...except for Trixie, Trixie was a good girl, sweet, cute, with a boyfriend who loved to do the right thing as a race car driver. Not some tinkerbell badass with a darkish persona portrayed in the movie.
The movie makes it seem like they're all psycho for racing, granted Pops wanted to make a badass car with tons of safety features for his boy, Speed. Speed was just a regular guy who did what he was good at doing...while having a big heart.
BAD FORM, WACHOWSKI BROS, BAD FORM. I hope the Pan comes to stop you!
I love Speed Racer, so forgive my aggression towards the crapshoot I saw on my screen 10mins ago.

As long as its entertaining in any form or way, then the movie did its job ^^
Im not EXPECTING it to be some ridiculously picture perfect, spot-on Speed Racer live-action re-incarnation. That'd just be too cheezy.
Trixie: SPEED! LOOK OUT!!!1one
Speed: OHHH!! OOOOOHHH!!! OOHHHHHH!!! *5 mins. of the camera showing Speed with the 'Oh' face and then panning back to Trixie with her 'this dude is a damn idiot' face.
Come on, how many times have we been thoroughly disappointed by movies that are made after a cartoon or comic book? Too many. Even the new Batman, as awesome as it is, isn't doing things the same way the REAL Batman stuff happened. *I.E. the biggest example being the Joker and his relation to Bruce Wayne*. But the movie is still real freaking good, one of the best.
The list can go on and on. This movie may not BE the Speed Racer that we all know, but it still looks entertaining, nevertheless. And the Wachowski bros. so far have made movies that haven't disappointed me, because of their unique style in directing.
All in all, I think it'll be alright. It looks completely crazy and out of whack, which is a very weird way of going about the show. Atleast Paul Walker isn't Speed Racer.
